Fish Pedicures

Doctor fish2.Image via WikipediaSo the other day, Good Morning America did a story on the latest rage "fish pedicures". You put your feet into a warm bath filled with Garra Rufa, a small toothless fish, also known as doctor fish. It turns out these fish love to feast on dead skin cells, so they literally just nibble your calluses away. As much as I'd like to try this out, it seems currently a Virginia spa is the only one offering this service in the U.S.

The strange thing about this GMA segment was that a few nights earlier, on ABC's own I Survived a Japanese Game Show, the contestants were treated to just such a pedicure. However, Diane and Robin never mentioned this (missing out on a good cross-promotion opportunity), but instead made it sound like this was the first time most Americans would be learning about this treatment (it's been popular in other countries for some time). Now, I know not many people are watching I Survived a Japanese Game Show, but it did seem odd, that they never even mentioned that this pedicure was recently seen on the program. I guess the News and Entertainment divisions don't speak.
