Image by webgirlpip via FlickrOne of my favorite things to do in the Fall is to go apple picking. We took the kids last weekend, and now have 20 lbs. (!!) of apples. The farm we went to offers a hayride to the orchard, and also has a hay maze for the kids. By the end of the day we were all covered in hay, and had sampled quite a few of the apples. Oh, and did I mention they also have scrumptious donuts! I discovered a new kind of apple I had never seen or tired before. It's called a Fortune, and it is so delicious. It's on the sweeter side (which I prefer) and was just really really yummy. Of course, I've never seen them in the supermarket, so I'm not sure where I'll be able to get more (without going back to the orchard). They were so good, my daughter even requested one in her lunch box - and didn't want it peeled and cut up (like she usually requires)! Now I just have to figure out where I can get my hands on some more of them.
