Last year we took a big family trip to Disney World. It was our kids' first time, and we had a ball. Ever since, the kids and I spend a lot of time talking about when we're going to return (um, tomorrow??). Unfortunately, my husband does not share our love for all things Disney. He had a great time, but thinks there are other trips we could take instead. But really, is there a better place to take a 7 year old and two 4 year olds on vacation? In some ways the point is moot because we're not planning on taking any major trips this year, what with the economy in the tank and all. So what do I find in my e-mail the other day? A message from the nice people at Disney offering me 40% off my room if I book by the end of March!! Oh, it's so frustrating. There's no way we're going to go this year, but it kills me to have such a big discount and not be able to use it. I know from research that they send these e-mails out randomly, and you never know when or if you're going to get the coveted discount code. What's the chance they'll send me one next year, when we may be ready to go?? I know - slim to none.
For any of you who are planning a trip there this year, I hope you were lucky enough to receive the same promotional e-mail. And if you are going, be sure to check out my earlier post about how you too can be in a parade down Main Street.
