I'm Tired of It

Is anyone else sick of hearing about the latest unemployment numbers? I really think the 24/7 news cycle is partly responsible for the downturn in the economy. Of course I know that many banks made many bad mortgages, and that consumer confidence is not solely to blame. However, I do think that the non-stop reporting about the downturn in the economy has convinced people with steady incomes to stop spending money - which of course leads to less revenue for businesses and more lay-offs. It's a vicious cycle. I really think if people only got their news from either the six o'clock news or the newspaper, then many of them (those who haven't been laid off) would not be so worried about spending their money. And that would be a great economic stimulus.
