My sons started taking tennis lessons this week. They are only four and a half (they never let me forget the "half"), so it's really just for fun. They were so excited - I think they thought they would get to play a full game (or play "versus" as they call it). Basically they learned how to hit forehand, backhand and volley. The funniest thing was seeing how my two very different boys behaved. One of my sons is very competitive - he was running to the line, hitting (or trying) to hit the ball, and then running back. My other son had a comment and opinion on everything, and took a much more laconic approach to the game...slowly sauntering up to take his turn, chatting about why he liked forehand more than backhand, etc. Though they had two very different approaches, they both loved the lessons. Of course, now they want to take lessons every day . . . we'll have to see how that goes.
