Mario & Sonic in Vancouver?

Sega Corporation 株式会社セガImage via Wikipedia

Obviously I'm not on top of all of the latest video game news, but I just found out that SEGA has announced that they will be releasing Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games in time for Vancouver 2010. If you've read my previous post, then you'll realize what exciting news this is for my family. It seems obvious that they would release a Winter version based on Vancouver, because the Summer Beijing version has been so popular, but I was happily surprised by the announcement. It should be release in time for Christmas 2009. I hope it picks up some of the flavor of Vancouver. One of my children's favorite things about the Summer version is the images of the Bird's Nest from Beijing - so I hope the Winter version includes some iconic images. Of course, if we get the game prior to the start of the Winter Olympics, none of those images will mean anything to us yet! Either way, I know what's going to be on the Christmas list.
